Welcome to my blog... This has been a project I've had running
through my brain for about 2 years now - to the point that it's
gotten rediculous that I still haven't done it. I have found
my biggest problem with getting projects done is that I just can't
do them gradually - it's either all or nothing. The other
problem, which compounds the first problem, is that I'm incredibly
ambitious - so any project I undertake ends up getting bigger and
bigger to the point that I just can't fathom the idea of doing it
all, and if I can't do it all in one go, i just can't launch
it.
This blog represents a departure from this mindset for me.
As you can see, it is a very basic start - a bare-bones install of
a blog package. At least now I can start to download all of
the ideas that have been bouncing around my brain for all these
months. Sure its not the prettiest thing you've ever seen, or
the most functional, but hey it's a start... hopefully having this
up here will inspire me to keep adding new posts, keep improving
the functionality, and keep making it look nicer.
So what should you expect from this site? Well, without
giving too much away, here's some ideas I have for my blog
site:
- General information about me, my life, my passions and my
professional life
- Tips & tricks that I learn along the way in my work and
freelance life - mostly .Net, Web development and Umbraco CMS
stuff
- Links to cool websites that I find in my web surfing
adventures
- Reviews of products I use, including software, gadgets,
etc
- Discussions about things i do like music gigs, movies, etc
- Photos
- Etc
So yeah, as you can see i have big ideas for this site.. but
really it's just a place for me to unload all the junk from my
brain. I'll use it very much as my own reference site to
remind me of things I've learned in the past... with the hope that
some of you, the readers of my blog, may gain something from
it too. If you do, please take the time to post a comment -
it'd be nice to know that there are actually people out there and
I'm not just preaching to an empty room.
Thanks, and enjoy my blog
Greg
